The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science of Sharif University of Technology admits students to the specialized doctoral program through a national exam. Admission to the doctoral program of the Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science is without orientation. The current doctoral program consists of 39 courses, which include 8 compulsory courses, 7 optional courses, 24 doctoral dissertations and 3 compensatory courses (in the entrance program before 2012, the number of optional units is 10). In addition, each PhD student must enroll in and successfully complete the Zero Assistant (TA) course at least three times. After entering the faculty, students have a maximum of one semester to choose their supervisor and submit their supervisor form to the graduate office of the faculty after the approval of the relevant professor. After determining the supervisor, the student is obliged to obtain his / her optional units under the supervision of the supervisor in accordance with the research field of his / her dissertation. Admission to the doctoral program of the Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science of Sharif University of Technology admits students in nine different specializations in the master's degree through the national exam. Master's courses in this college are held in two forms: education-oriented (without master's thesis) and education-research-oriented (with master's thesis). The duration of the master's degree course in this college is 2 years, and in order to succeed in this course, it is necessary for the student to successfully pass the units related to his / her major (according to the syllabus) during this period. The Faculty of Engineering and Materials Science of Sharif University of Technology admits students in the general course of Engineering and Materials Science through a national exam. The undergraduate curriculum of the faculty consists of 140 courses, which includes 20 units of general courses, 40 units of basic courses, 61 units of compulsory specialized courses, 10 units of optional courses of the first group and 9 units of specialized courses of the second group. The length of the undergraduate course in this faculty is 4 years, and it is possible to extend the academic years according to the student's request and with the agreement of the faculty (and university) education department under special conditions.
